Hello, I’m Jeanette,

a counsellor based in York, North Yorkshire.

I understand how difficult it can feel to take the first step in seeking counselling. Choosing a counsellor can be daunting, and it’s important that you feel comfortable and confident in your choice. To support this, I offer a free initial 15-minute telephone or online conversation. This gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have and to get a sense of whether I am the right counsellor for you.

I believe that sharing your thoughts and feelings with someone outside of your usual circle of friends, family, or colleagues can be a powerful step towards feeling more balanced and understood. I am dedicated to supporting people who are finding life overwhelming or difficult to navigate.

Weekly counselling can offer you a safe space to pause, reflect, and gain insight into your experiences, helping you develop new perspectives and ways of understanding yourself and your life.

I provide a warm, non-judgemental, empathic, and supportive environment where you can talk freely and at your own pace. Together, we can explore any difficulties, thoughts, or feelings you may be experiencing.

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and interventions, tailored to you as an individual and to what feels most helpful at that time.

I hold a BA (Hons) First-Class degree in Contemporary Relational Counselling, a Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People, and a Certificate in Adult Adoption Counselling Support. I am also trained in the Rewind Technique which can work effectively with trauma (PTSD) and phobias.

I hold an enhanced DBS certificate, am police vetted, and am able to work with adults, children, and young people. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with their ethical framework to ensure safe and professional practice
